City Club of Chicago
The City Club of Chicago is a non-profit, non-partisan organization whose over 1,600 members include prominent business, civic and government leaders in Chicago. The organization attracts those interested in civic responsibility, public issues, open political debate and networking opportunities. The City Club hosts forums each month focusing on public affairs in the Chicago region. These events foster discussion and debate of issues that affect our communities.
Webitects worked with the City Club to replace a dated website—redesign goals included a modern visual design, mobile compatibility, ease-of-use, content management allowing City Club staff to maintain website content, and integration with an internal membership database. The site includes member and non-member accounts where user can view their transaction history and update their profile, a multi-step member application (with various member levels), online dues payment, and event registration.
There are several events scheduled on a monthly basis with the exception of the summer months when the City Club activities are on hiatus. Webitects designed and implemented a new user friendly event registration process, including online payments, member and non-member event registration/payment options, and the ability to purchase individual tickets, tables, and sponsorships.
Webitects also integrated City Club’s member database with a broadcast email system (MailChimp) so that distribution lists are automatically synchronized (e.g. member updates to email addresses automatically flow to MailChimp). We also created email templates consistent with the website’s design used by the City Club to announce speakers as they are scheduled.
Other key features of the City Club website are the online searchable streaming video library of past events, a responsive mobile-friendly design, and integration of a custom Twitter widget.
